Nutrition advise for different clients’ goals - Maintain a healthy lifestyle

As fitness trainers, you are not qualified to give specific nutrition advice and create meal plans, it’s even illegal in some states. But in most states, what you can do is give healthy eating advice and help your clients understand the dietary guidelines and how they affect their lives. So it’s important to know the basics of different nutrition goals and the scientific aspects of them.

In this series, we’re going to discuss a few nutrition aspects of different clients’ goals, and this time we’re going to talk about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.   

  1. Eat more vegetables and fruits
  2. Switch to whole-grain
  3. Drink more water and less sugary drinks
  4. Reduce the amount of salt you add to your food 
  5. Eat lean protein foods 
  6. Make your snacks healthy
  7. Switch to fat-free or low-fat
  8. Use smaller plates for your meals
  9. Notice the sodium in foods
  10. Choose baked or grilled food instead of fried
